A tutto gas!

Monday 22 June 2009 at 10:19 pm Tom, Morini Trackday 2009

This is my mate Tom. He has a bit of an obsession with Moto Morini, the most obvious result of which is the rather special Dart he's riding in the photo. Naturally, he's a member of the Morini Riders Club, who hold an annual trackday at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire. Tom has been trying to get me to come along to this pretty much every year since I've known him - but there's always been some reason why I couldn't make it. (more)

DR800: Time is running out.

Tuesday 09 June 2009 at 9:05 pm The previous installment of the story left off on the Saturday evening of the bank holiday weekend, with a good few inches of chassis now consigned to my scrap metal bin, and the new tail light/plate hanger just about bolted on. There's still no indicators, the side panels are in a corner, and half the wiring loom is sat on the back wheel, in the absence of anything else to hold it up.

Time to sort out a few details then...

As I pick up a hacksaw and walk across the garage towards the bike, I paused to reflect that there are definite advantages to running bikes which are barely worth anything.

DR800: Stripdown and Planning

Monday 01 June 2009 at 9:27 pm So on Friday afternoon (as it's now taken me over a week to write this up, that's a week ago last Friday) I came home from work, took a final photo of the bike as it was, then decided to take the topbox off. Then the side panels. Then everything else. (more)
